Hello..... from the other side of Christmas in retail! ;) It's been a minute since I've had the time to sit down and write out a blog. I was really lacking brain power there toward the end otherwise I would have *attempted* to write one as a (genuine) 'thank you' for an incredible year!
I know we've all given 2020 a lot of grief for being the worst - but, I've actually LOVED it. I'll be the first to say it was a year loaded with change and growth - both professionally and personally. I think we could have all had "just another year" but instead, we got to experience a (weird) year that forced us to slow down. I loved it. Can we all just agree that when things can safely open up again that it's OKAY to not be so busy ALL the time?!
I really feel like I was at market in January 2020, blinked and we were at the busiest time of year again. Anyone else?
I also really thought "quarantine life" would do me in as the days were agonizingly long and times were uncertain. Tyler was working from home, Knox was with us, and I was trying my best to manage a safe home (and newly-walking-toddler) and two businesses. My team pushed through, got Rosebuds storefront online, and ended up stronger on the other side of what unfortunately ended many small businesses across the country (and world). I don't take being open today for granted - truly. We are oh-so-grateful that we are able to serve you still today!
2020 taught us many life lessons at The Southern Rose & Rosebuds. We did more "pivoting" than we could ever imagine for one year - which meant a lot of change. The coolest thing we can say for this year:
We shipped a package to all 50 states!
Absolutely INCREDIBLE! We can't thank you guys enough for allowing us to help you create the perfect custom gifts and apparel or the best baby gift at the (virtual) baby shower. Our team LOVES coming in each day and helping serve each of you. Whether that's in person, a private shopping appointment, or online! We are so blessed to be here in Columbia and look forward to another great year ahead!
So, what's up for 2021?
Don't we ALL wish we had a crystal ball to answer that question! ;)
First things first, I'm going to have a baby..... Yeah, somehow in the midst of the craziness of 2020, Tyler and I decided to grow our family! A sweet baby girl will be joining our team in early March (and I will begin praying that she one day wants to take over so I can retire - ha)!
We can't wait for her arrival just like we can't wait for ALL of the fun we've got planned for 2021! Here's a few little updates + information for you. Thanks for sticking around!

Hours (beginning January 4):
Tuesday-Friday: 10am - 6pm
Saturday: 10am-4pm
Note: We kinda fell in love with Mondays closed during the reopening phase post-shutdown. We are able to get soooo much done that we just can't during our days open! We know this may be an inconvenience at times, but feel free to schedule an appointment for a shopping time on Monday. We are glad to accommodate you if we can!
New Arrivals:
We have added HUNDREDS of items to our website to better serve you all shopping at home during the last few months. To make things a bit easier for everyone, we will be dropping collections of NEW arrivals on Tuesday nights at 6pm! Our first launch is set to take place on January 19th! These collections will include jewelry/accessories, gifts, and apparel. We won't restock these items so be sure to follow along on IG so you don't miss out on any fun new items!
